Well this has been a very busy month in books. Some very anticipated ones, but also new releases from new authors.
May has been very exciting for me. I have met Charlaine Harris and had dinner with her. Now for the new SS novel DITF, I wasn't excited about. It was great to see one of our favorite vampires portrayed in a way that most have always seen him in (Eric of course), even though I loved this and loved Eric and Sookie's relationship moving forward I still couldn't quite connect with this book. The lack of closure on the suitors in Sookie's life are taking away from the books we have come to love.
Now J.R.Ward I felt hit the nail on the head with Lover Mine. Book eight in the Black Dagger Brotherhood brought this series to a whole new level, I felt. In the begining The Warden has a side story that loyal BDB fans might feel take away from the story but by the end of the book you will be amazed at her brillance. She has very nicely tied her books toghether in this book and left us begging for more.
Burned P.C. Cast's newest House of Night book was very exciting also.
Last but not LEAST we have Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews. This duo writing team are absolutely amazing. Once again we have author's who don't believe in dragging the fans along with a bunch of books where the love interest are left hanging and distracting from the story. They nicely end it in book 4 and the story is all the better for it I believe.
I have to add I also just finished Richelle Meads Vampire Academy Spirit Bound and the Georgina Kincaid series. Both are very entertaining and I'm looking foward to reading the Eugenie (Dark Swan) books, which I started last night.
Can't wait for June and July releases: Jocelynn Drakes Dark Days series has a book releasing each month, Chloe Neill has Twice Bitten, Nalini Singh's Bonds of Justice, Jeaniene Frost EKOD, Christine Feehan's Water Bound, and so many more.
Happy Reading,
